Calabash Handmade soap is pure and natural, made with plant oils and extracts, botanicals, aromatherapy blends of pure essential oils and high quality fragrance oils. Our recipes are carefully formulated to be rich, mild, cleansing and long lasting.

For natural skincare we use olive oil to soothe and moisturise, coconut oil for a luxurious cleansing lather, and palm oil to extend the life of your handmade soap with its natural ability to produce a long lasting and hard bar of handmade soap. All our handmade soaps contain the additional moisturising luxury of African cocoa butter which has wonderful soothing and emoilient qualities.

Commercial soaps are manufactured from a ready made base derived from cheap animal fat, foaming agents and detergents. All the natural skin nourishing glycerine is actually often removed and sold on to be added to other cosmetics and toiletries. Can this be good for your skin?

At Calabash we use only natural oils in our handmade soap and the Cold Process Soapmaking method which retains all the natural skin conditioning glycerine released from the oils that are normally removed from commercial soaps. Our handmade soap leaves your body feeling clean, soft and beautifully moisturised and can be used on your face (avoiding the eye area) without that horrible, familiar dryness & tightening of the skin associated with regular detergent based commercial soap.
